Dumb Ways to Die, or Dumb Ways to Die Original (alt title for Google Play only) is the app for Android/iOS based on the music video Dumb Ways to Die. This game is made by Metro Trains Melbourne in Australia. The game has many sequels and spinoffs, and the first of which was released on Android/iOS/Windows devices: Dumb Ways to Die 2: The Games.
The title is shortened as Dumb Ways due to the insufficient space for the text.

Build A Bean[]
- Main article: Build A Bean
Build A Bean is a feature added in version 2.0.0, published at February 15, 2017.
This feature allows the player to customize their own bean with different types of hair, facial features, accessories and deaths. They can use it in-game as the life bar or as an iMessage Sticker. They may revert back to Dunce as the life bar after unchecking "Use in game" option.

Practice Mode[]
Practice Mode is a feature introduced in the version 2.3.0, published at June 5, 2017.
In this feature, players can select at least four minigames and play a game only within the selected minigames. At first, the player only has a few of the basic games to pick, but can buy other games they want ranging for 1000-3000 coins.
As of version 36.0.4, this mode is currently not available.

- In the old version of the minigame Flappy Stupe, the player had to blow or scream into the mic to make the plane go up. Also, this game could be disabled through the Settings for some players who don't have the device with a mic to clear the minigame. This lasts until October 19, 2016, when they had tweaks.
- The minigame Hunting Season was added on August 1, 2013 and modified in September 2013, and again in 2016. It used to be 3 to 5 holes, then it was 2 to 5 holes, now it's 1 to 5 holes, but without challenge with 2 holes.
- In September 2013, the mini-game Throw Up Clean Up was modified to be easier due to some complaints.
- In the old version of the minigame Stand Firm, the splashed super glue around Calamity wasn't seen and she wasn't sticked by that after her death, just like the video Dumb Ways to Die suggest. Also, Calamity was referred as a male.
- In the minigame Spaceman Splat, Numskull was initially referred as male in Dumb Ways to Die (application) game, which is now modified correctly as "Guide the astronaut back to her helmet!" posterior to the ver. 2.9.0 update.
- During the debut of the minigame Bird Blunder in the Halloween update, an exploit consists of keeping Putz in the air until the timer is up. The Christmas update fixed this by adding another bird.
- In some previous versions of the game[citation needed], there was a glitch that created a yellow screen and the player could not do anything which includes pausing the app and exiting; therefore, the player had to reset the app in order to resolve the glitch.
- The game is very similar to the WarioWare series, where you have to complete rapid "microgames" which speed up after a few microgames are completed, the main difference being the lack of boss stages and level ups.

- The title of Numpty's minigame, "Hot Head" is a pun on "hothead", a person who easily becomes angry.
- The title of Numpty's minigame, "Break An Egg" is a pun on "break a leg", which means "good luck".
- The title of Numpty's minigame, "Spain in The Butt" is a pun on "pain in the butt", a term used for when someone or something is annoying or troublesome.
- The title of Hapless's minigame, "Duck Duck Bear" is a pun on "Duck, duck, goose", a children's game where one taps the others' heads while saying "duck" and taps the last person while saying "goose".
- The title of Hapless's minigame, "Huge Missed Steak" is a pun on "huge mistake".
- The title of Pillock's minigame, "Kill Pill" is a pun on "Kill Bill", a series of films. It may also be a pun on the phrase “chill pill”, as in “take a chill pill”, meaning “calm down”.
- The title of Pillock’s minigame, "Sugar Pill" is a pun on "sugar pill", a pill that has no medicine in it.
- The title of Dippy's minigame, "Loves Meat, Loves Meat Not" is a pun on "He loves me... he loves me not", a game telling how much one loves their love interest.
- The title of Dummkopf's minigame, "Electro-Cute" is a pun on "electrocute", which means killing or hurting someone using electricity.
- The title of Dummkopf's minigame, "Flippin' Out", is a pun on "flipping out", meaning to get excited or angry.
- The title of Dimwit's minigame, "Nailed It!" is a pun on "nailed it", a phrase said by someone when they achieve something.
