Putz is a bean who ran across the tracks between the platforms and got hit by a train.
About[]
Putz likes the easy life. He doesn't do effort. His philosophy on life is, 'why take the long way around when you can just run across the tracks?' If there were an award for laziness, Putz would probably have someone else pick it up for him. Ironically, 'Putz' is also the sound a train makes when it meets someone running across the tracks between platforms.
Appearance[]
In the chorus
Putz is a cashew-shaped bean with a violet body color. He has tufts of hair on the side of his head and two visible lower jaw teeths. Unlike other beans, he has long arms resembling a gorilla.
After he tried to get his balloon back, he is now seen in half.
In the old ending, he had two cross band-aids on his head.

In the video, Putz is standing on a platform, holding a balloon. His balloon escapes his hand however, then he jumps off the platform, and starts to cross the tracks and gets hit by a train, filling the screen with his mouth screaming.
Later, as he finishes the song with everyone else, his left half falls over.
Game[]
Putz can be unlocked for the player's Train Station at the score 1200 in the old version and at the total score of 288800 in the new version. In both versions, he is the 7th bean to arrive at the train station, and in the new version, he is the 36th thing that can be unlocked.
- Balloon Baffoon
Unlocked by default
His first minigame which was released with the app was a minigame where the player will drag balloon strings to Putz's hand. There can be as few as two balloons or as many as five. The player must drag all the balloons to his hand. If all the balloons are in his hand, he will hold a lot of balloons while the train passes. If not all the balloons are in his hand, he will let go of his balloons and run across the tracks, and the train hits him and sends him flying into the screen.
He also can be unlocked in your train station.
- Bird Blunder
Unlock at 1344800 accumulated score
Putz has a new game that involves him flying with several balloons. You must hold the screen and avoid the seagulls popping the balloons. If you dodge all the seagulls, Putz will land on the train station safely and then he enters a train. If Putz's balloons are popped, he will land on the train tracks and wipe off some sweat before getting hit by a train, resulting in failure.
- Super Stoked
Can't be unlocked at this point of time
Putz has a third game where the player must help Putz throw coal into the engine, keeping the scare off the red and in the middle. If done correctly, the train (filled with balloons) leaves. Otherwise, the engine catches fire and spits out Putz's halves.
- Hippo Hop
Can't be unlocked at this point of time
Putz has an animal game where he must hop on all the hippos to get to the other side, similar to Madcap in Reckless River Crossing. If he gets to the other side, he grabs the balloons there and hops back. Otherwise, he falls in the water and gets squished by two hippos, causing him to get decapitated and bleed.
- Vicious Cycle
Can't be unlocked at this point of time
There is a Europe game where the player must quickly circle their finger to help Putz cycle fast. If he wins, he is awarded flowers and a trophy, then gets a balloon instead. Otherwise, he falls off his bike and splits in half as the bike rides into him.
- Pluck Your Luck
Unlock at 80000 accumulated score
The player has to pluck all the clovers while avoiding any of the spoons. If all the clovers are plucked, Putz will have picked a clover. If any spoons are plucked or not all clovers are plucked, Putz will have picked a spoon and will get electrocuted by thunder, resulting in failure.
- Deadly Photo 'Op
Unlock at 33800 accumulated score
There's a winter-themed minigame where the player has to drag the 3 Putzs below the ledge, similar to Stumble's first minigame. If so, Putz will take a photo from the Everest Mountain and some of them from Dumb Ways to Die 3:World Tour. If the players loses, Putz will fall off the cliff, resulting in failure.
Dumb Ways to Die 2: The Games[]
- Graduation Day
Putz is seen in the classroom, trying to pass the exam. The player needs to trace the line so that he can pass. If so, he will have a graduation hat with an A+ on his paper. Otherwise, he will wear a dunce hat with the 'F' sign shown while others laugh at him, failing the minigame.
- Hold Still
Putz is seen carrying a stack of present gifts. The player must not move a muscle. If so, the presents will fall after he put near the tree. Otherwise, he will slip on the floor and throw his presents into the fireplace, failing the minigame.
- Party Time
Putz appears in this minigame only if you win where he was gifted by Doofus.
Dumb Ways to Die 3: World Tour[]
Putz is an Epic bean on Dumb Ways to Die 3: World Tour. He can be obtained only if you repaired the medium-sized house at the 3rd row right in Dumbtune and found in gifts. His ability is Guardian Angel which counts +100% Token Multiplier.
Dumb Ways to Draw[]
Putz is seen on some levels where the player has to guide him to his balloon and avoid obstacles like the train tracks, a slippery surface and more. If he touches the train tracks, he will get hit by a train, leaving his legs on the tracks. If he touches the slippery surface, he will slip on it and bleed. Guiding him to the balloon will make him hold onto it, resulting in the level complete.

Trivia[]
- His name was mentioned by Ms.Waymark, the General Manager of the DWtD series [1].
- His name has three separate meanings, but two meanings are a synonym for stupid, like most characters, but his name can also mean to spend time in an aimless or idle manner, which is probably what his name is based on.
- On the website, he got sliced in thirds instead of in half, just like Stumble and Phoney.
- He is one of the characters who have a darker spot above its eyes, Bonehead and Reite are the other characters.
- It is unknown how Putz got split into half in Super Stoked, since the train caught fire and should have burned Putz instead of Putz getting split into half.
- Also when the engine spits out Putz's halves, he is smiling for some reason.
- Putz plays Santa Claus in the Deck the Halls music video, songbook, and album cover.
- In Dumb Ways to Die 2: The Games, he is the only character to have minigames that don't make any apparent death/injury to the character during the failure scenes, though being caught in a house fire is heavily implied in the Christmas minigame "Hold Still".
- He and Doomed are the only two purple characters in the video.
- Putz and Numskull are the beans that reach for item(s), being the balloon(s), and the space helmet, respectively.
